Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring: Why It’s the Only Option We Use In Our Homes

One of the most common questions we get when sharing our home is, “What floors do you use?” And for good reason — flooring sets the tone for your entire space. It needs to be beautiful, durable, low-maintenance, and able to stand up to kids, pets, spills, and real life.

That’s exactly why we consistently use the Oak Select LVP collection from Adleta in our homes — and we’re a little obsessed with it.

Let me tell you why.

A Floor That Looks and Feels Like Real Wood

These floors don’t just look good, they feel amazing, too. Thanks to Adleta’s high-resolution imaging and direct press EIR embossing, each plank is designed to look just like high-end hardwood. The texture follows the grain, so it’s not just a printed image — it has the feel of real wood.

We’re talking major high-end vibes… without the high-end price or maintenance. (Love that!!)

Wider, Longer Planks for a Custom Look

Standard vinyl plank floors are usually pretty narrow, but Oak Select planks are 9 inches wide and 5 feet long, which gives the floor a more custom, expansive look. The wider planks also mean fewer seams and a cleaner, more continuous feel from room to room.

Bonus: this larger size actually makes rooms look bigger, which we’re always here for!

Built to Last (and Installed to Last)

Oak Select isn’t just pretty — it also used the most advanced locking system on the market: the i4F locking system, which helps installers get the job done quickly and securely. That means no shifting, no gapping, and a tight lock that holds up over time.

Underneath, each plank is backed with one of the densest IXPE pads available, which adds cushion and minimizes deflection (aka bouncing or movement you sometimes feel with wider planks).

100% Exclusive and Unmatched in the SPC Category

Adleta went all-in to create something exclusive and premium with this line. From performance to design, Oak Select is made to stand out in the SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) category. It’s waterproof, kid-proof, and life-proof — while still delivering designer-level style.

If you’re building, renovating, or just daydreaming about your next flooring upgrade, I can’t recommend these enough. We use them over and over in our homes, and every time.

A few helpful tips

  • Match the undertone to your overall palette – If your home leans warm (beiges, creams, golds), pick flooring with warm undertones like honey oak or warm walnut. For cooler palettes (grays, blues, whites), go with cooler-toned woods or grays
  • Think about room size & light – Lighter floors can make small rooms feel larger and brighter, while darker floors create a cozy, dramatic vibe in large or naturally bright spaces.
  • Plan for flow between rooms – Especially in open-concept homes, keep flooring consistent or use colors within the same tone family to avoid choppy transitions.
