I ordered these white blank ornaments from Amazon. They were $24 for a pack of 24 – such a great deal!

For this project, I used 3 different IOD Stamps, Mod Podge, gold gilding wax, white tissue paper, velvet ribbon and some beautiful blue ink!

First, I started on the tissue paper and stamps. I add IOD blue ink to an empty ink pad.

Then, I inked up a full sheet of IOD Rural Scenes stamps. This is one of my favorite stamp collections!

Then, I flipped the stamp sheet over and pressed it down on the white tissue paper.

How beautiful is that?

I did this again with the second page of the IOD Stamps – Rural Scenes collection!

Then, I repeated the same steps with the IOD Stamp collection – Ephemeral Type.

Don’t you just love how these stamps transfer?

If you are wondering what I am doing; I am basically creating my own decoupage paper! How cool is it that I am able to create my own designs with different IOD stamps? And now, you can too!

Next, I used a STAALMEESTER Fitch Artist brush to apply Mod Podge to the outside of a white blank ornament.

Next, I placed the ornament onto a cut-out section of the tissue paper and carefully wrapped the paper around it, making sure it covered the surface.

I didn’t worry about any folds or creases, as they only added to the charm and character of the design, giving the ornaments a more rustic, handmade feel.

Once the tissue paper was wrapped around the ornament, I applied another layer of Mod Podge over the entire piece to secure the paper and give it a finished look.

I created ornaments using all of the tissue papers that I stamped, each one bringing a unique design and texture to the finished pieces.

Do you see how the folds and layers just add to the overall look? I love it!

I decided to add a few more layers to the ornaments, so I cut out smaller pieces of tissue paper and used Mod Podge to carefully layer them.
To keep the designs cohesive, I stuck to using the same stamp collections for each ornament, so that the patterns still matched.

More layers, more textures, and more of that beautiful blue color!
The best part about DIY is that you can get creative and make each ornament uniquely your own as you go.

Since the silver top of the ornament didn’t match my decor, I decided to transform it using Dixie Belle Gilding Wax in Gold.
I applied the gilding wax with a small brush. While you could remove the top to paint, I found it easier to hold onto the ornament while I worked, so I left it in place.

To finish the ornaments, I decided to use this beautiful blue velvet ribbon to add a hanger.

I cut a few small strips and tied them around the top of each ornament.

And then, it was finally time to hang them on the tree! How cute are these?

These are the most beautiful French country-inspired Christmas decor pieces I have ever seen!
