Ready for a new Easy DIY Project?

I LOVE old ceramic pieces! I think someone gave me these old ceramic ducks but unfortunately, one of them had a chip in it. And since I wasn’t crazy about the original colors I decided to use one of my favorite DIY techniques to bring them back to life!

Paint Washing is quick, simple & easy!

First, I used my Fusion Misting Spray Bottle to spray water all over the ceramic pieces.

Then, I used a STAALMEESTER Pointed Sash Brush to apply 1 coat of Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Raw Silk to the entire piece.

Once the entire piece was painted, I used my Fusion Misting Spray Bottle to spray the entire piece again.

This painting technique causes the paint to run off the ceramic piece so that some of the color underneath pokes through and gives the item a worn look.

Once the ceramic pieces dried, they had a beautiful weathered look to them.

You can leave your painted ducks just like that OR you can use some sand paper to sand off some of the excess paint. That allows some of the original color to peak through.

Not only is this technique quick, simple & easy but it looks different on every single piece that I do. I LOVE how these ducks turned out!
