Ready to tackle a new DIY project that’s simple, easy, and looks far more expensive than it actually is? Let’s get started!

For this project, I use the Primitive IOD Mould along with my favorite fast-casting resin to create the beautiful resin leaves that decorate the brush handle.

You can also purchase resin castings on my website:
First, I applied hot glue to the backside of the resin leaves.

Next, I pressed the larger leaf onto the top of the brush handle and the smaller leaf onto the bottom.

Once the glue dried, I painted the wood and resin leaves to match the same color. I chose Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Weeping Willow because it’s a beautiful green!

Using a STAALMEESTER Fitch Artist Brush, I applied 1 coat of paint to the wood portion of the brush.

How pretty is that green? I loved how it turned out!

Once the paint dried, I used a piece of sandpaper to lightly distress the wood, achieving the vintage look I was hoping for.

As you can see in the image below, distressing the resin allows a bit of the white to beautifully show through.

And that’s it! How easy is that?
You can style your brush on a shelf or hang it on a hook, just like I did!
